We find the fault, price it, then ask you.
Independent auto repair on Tedlo St. Every job starts with a diagnosis and a written estimate with photos of what we found — because guessing at parts is how a $200 problem becomes a $900 invoice.
Warning light on right now? Don’t let a parts store read the code and sell you a sensor. A code points at a circuit, not at a part.
How our diagnosis works02 / What we do
Three things, done properly
Not a tire shop, not a body shop, not a quick-lube. Mechanical repair, electrical diagnosis and scheduled maintenance on cars, crossovers and light vans.
Diagnostics
Manufacturer-level scan tools, live data, oscilloscope and a road test. You get the finding in writing with photos, and the fee comes off the repair.
02Repairs
Brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, electrical, exhaust, heating and A/C. Quoted before we start, warranted for 24 months.
03Maintenance
Manufacturer service intervals without dealer pricing, plus Safety Standards Certificates and pre-purchase inspections.
03 / Triage
Tell us the symptom, not the part
Three questions. You get a realistic price range and a likely cause back by text — not a catalogue, and not “bring it in and we’ll see”.
If the car is unsafe to drive — brake pedal to the floor, steam from the hood, smoke, a bang followed by a noise — stop reading and call (905) 555-0188.
What is the car doing?

04 / The rule we work by
Nothing gets touched before you’ve seen the number
Book or drop off
Tell us the symptom. If it’s a warning light, don’t clear it first — the freeze-frame data is half the diagnosis.
We diagnose and photograph
Scan, live data, road test where it’s relevant. Every fault we find gets a photo, not a description.
You get the estimate
By text or email. Parts, labour, tax, total. You approve line by line — you can decline half of it and we’ll do the other half.
We repair and log it
Torque specs and part numbers on the invoice. Your old parts come back to you if you want them.
This isn’t a company policy, it’s the law — we just don’t treat it as a ceiling. Under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002 a repairer must give you a written estimate on request, cannot charge more than 10% above it, and must return your replaced parts if you ask. Ask any shop in Mississauga to put their estimate in writing. Watch what happens.
05 / Repairs
Seven areas we cover
Brakes
Pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, fluid. Measured and photographed, not eyeballed through a wheel.
Suspension & steering
Struts, springs, bushings, ball joints, tie rods, racks. The reason your car clunks over the QEW expansion joints.
Engine repair
Misfires, oil and coolant leaks, timing components, water pumps, gaskets, cooling systems.
Transmission
Fluid and filter service, valve body work, mount replacement, clutch jobs on manuals.
Electrical & batteries
No-starts, charging faults, parasitic drains, wiring repair, module coding.
Exhaust & emissions
Welding, flex pipes, catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, EGR and EVAP faults.
Heating & A/C
No heat in February, no cold in July. Leak detection with dye and nitrogen, then a proper repair.
Safety Standards Certificate
Required to transfer ownership of a used vehicle in Ontario. Booked same week.
06 / Why here
What actually separates one shop from another
- Scan tool coverage, not a code reader. Manufacturer-level software for European, Japanese, Korean and domestic makes. Coding, adaptations and module programming included — the work a generic reader can’t touch.
- Photos of every fault. A cracked boot, a weeping seal, a rusted line. You see it before you pay for it.
- 24-month parts and labour warranty. Most shops in the GTA offer 12. Ours applies to parts we supply, across Canada.
- We turn work away. No bodywork, no tires, no transmissions rebuilt in-house. We’ll name a specialist rather than learn on your car.
- Loaner or a ride within 5 km. Two courtesy cars, first come. Otherwise we drop you at Dixie GO or your office.
07 / Common questions
Asked at the counter every week
Do I need an emissions test in Ontario?
Not for a passenger car. Ontario ended Drive Clean testing for light-duty vehicles on 1 April 2019. Heavy diesel commercial vehicles over 4,500 kg still need an annual test to renew a plate — see fleet services.
What is a Safety Standards Certificate and when do I need one?
It certifies the vehicle met the minimum safety standards on the day it was inspected. You need one to transfer ownership of a used vehicle in Ontario, or to register one brought in from another province. It’s valid 36 days and it is not a warranty or a statement about the car’s condition next month. Details here.
Will you tell me the price before you start?
Always, in writing, with photos. Ontario law entitles you to a written estimate and caps the bill at 10% above it. We treat that as the floor of decent behaviour, not the target.
Do you work on European cars?
Yes — that’s a large part of what we do. Manufacturer-level scan coverage means we can code, adapt and program modules rather than swap parts hoping the light goes out.
Can I supply my own parts?
Yes, at our normal labour rate. The 24-month warranty only covers parts we supply, because we can’t warrant something we didn’t source. We’ll also tell you honestly if the part you bought is the wrong one before we start.
How long does a diagnosis take?
Ninety minutes covers most cases. Intermittent electrical faults sometimes need the car overnight, and we’ll say so up front rather than after.

Send us the symptom
Year, make, model, kilometres and what it’s doing. That’s enough for a realistic range before you drive anywhere.
