Suspension & Steering Repair in Mississauga
Toronto-area roads are a durability test. Salt eats bushings and mounts, winter potholes bend control arms, and the QEW expansion joints find every worn ball joint in the GTA. Most of what we replace here failed early because of where it lives, not how it was driven.
What the noise usually means
- Clunk over bumps — sway bar links, strut mounts or control arm bushings
- Creak when turning slowly — strut mount bearing or a dry ball joint
- Car wanders on the highway — worn tie rods, or a steering rack with play
- Bouncing after a bump — struts or shocks have given up
- Uneven tire wear on one edge — geometry has moved, usually after a pothole
- Whine when turning — power steering pump or low fluid on hydraulic systems
How we confirm it
Road test with you if possible
You know what the noise sounds like. Ten minutes in the car together beats twenty minutes of guessing.
On the hoist, under load
Pry bar and dial gauge on every joint. A worn ball joint shows movement you can photograph.
Photos with the estimate
A split boot, a collapsed bushing, a leaking strut. You see the reason before you approve the cost.

Questions
What people ask
Do struts have to be done in pairs?
On the same axle, yes, in almost every case. One new and one worn gives uneven damping, which shows up as a pull under braking and uneven tire wear. We’ll say if yours is a genuine exception.
How long do struts last around here?
Typically 120,000–160,000 km, and toward the low end in the GTA. Salt kills the mount above the strut as often as the strut itself gives up.
Will I need an alignment after?
Yes, any time a component that affects geometry is replaced. We arrange it with a shop we trust and fold it into the same visit.
Can I just live with the clunk?
Depends entirely on the part. A sway bar link is a noise. A ball joint is a wheel that can separate from the car. We’ll tell you which category yours is in, plainly.
