Accessibility Statement
What we’re aiming for
This site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Ontario’s accessibility standard currently references WCAG 2.0 AA, and the province has signalled an intention to move to 2.2 — so we build to the newer target rather than the older minimum.
What’s been done
- Semantic HTML with a correct heading hierarchy on every page
- Skip link to main content and a visible focus outline throughout
- Everything operable by keyboard, including the menu, the triage widget and the accordions
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background, checked on the dark theme specifically
- Tap targets of at least 44 px on mobile, and a fixed action bar for call, estimate and directions
- Descriptive alt text on informative images; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
- Real labels on every form field, not placeholder text pretending to be a label
- Reduced-motion preference respected
- Layout reflows at 320 px and survives 200% zoom
- No content that relies on colour alone — the “open now” indicator carries text as well as a dot
- FAQ accordions use native
<details>, so they work with JavaScript disabled
Known limitations
- The embedded Google Map, once you choose to load it, is a third-party component we don’t control. Our address, hours and directions are always available as plain text on the contact page, so you never need the map.
- Photographs are currently placeholders pending a shoot at the shop. Alt text will be reviewed again when the real images are in place.
- The triage widget on the home page is a convenience, not a requirement — the estimate form and the phone do the same job.
If something doesn’t work for you
Tell us and we’ll fix it. More usefully in the short term: anything you can do on this site you can do by phone, and we’re glad to take an enquiry, quote a job or answer a question that way.

At the shop
The customer entrance and waiting area are at ground level with no step. Accessible parking is the marked space nearest the office door. If you need help getting in or out of the building, call ahead or ring the bell and someone will come out to you.
Draft note: the physical-access description above is written from the site plan and must be verified on the premises before publication. Don’t publish an accessibility claim you haven’t checked in person.
