Maintenance in Mississauga
The manufacturer’s schedule, done properly, without the dealership’s labour rate. Everything logged with part numbers and specifications so your warranty stays exactly where it is.
Oil & fluids
Engine oil to the exact specification your manufacturer requires, plus brake fluid, coolant, transmission and differential. Every fluid in the car has an interval, and most get ignored.
02Scheduled maintenance
Your car’s actual service schedule — filters, plugs, belts, inspections — priced item by item so you can see what you’re paying for.
03Safety Standards Certificate
Required to transfer ownership of a used vehicle in Ontario. Inspected against the provincial standard, with photos of anything that fails.
04Pre-purchase inspection
Before you hand over the money. Two hours, 120 points, a written report and a phone call telling you plainly whether to walk away.
The warranty question
No, using an independent shop doesn’t void your warranty
It’s the most common worry we hear, and it’s wrong. You’re entitled to have maintenance done wherever you like, provided the correct parts and fluids are used and the work is documented.
What actually matters is the paperwork. That’s why every invoice we produce records:
- Date and odometer reading
- Part numbers for everything fitted
- Fluid specifications, not just “oil”
- Which schedule item it satisfies
- Torque specs where they matter
Where the dealer genuinely is the right answer: open recalls, warranty repairs themselves, and software updates that only the manufacturer distributes. We’ll check for open recalls during any service and tell you to go get them done — they’re free, and we’d rather you had them.
Intervals
Rough guide for a GTA commuter
| Item | Typical interval | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil and filter | 8,000–12,000 km | shorter with short trips |
| Cabin air filter | 15,000–20,000 km | sooner if you park under trees |
| Engine air filter | 30,000–40,000 km | — |
| Brake fluid | 2–3 years | by time, not distance |
| Coolant | 5 years / 100,000 km | varies widely by make |
| Spark plugs | 60,000–160,000 km | depends on plug type |
| Transmission fluid | 60,000–100,000 km | ignore “lifetime” |
| Timing belt | at manufacturer interval | non-negotiable on interference engines |
Estimates before service too, not just repairs. Under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002 you’re entitled to a written estimate, the bill can’t exceed it by more than 10%, and your replaced parts come back to you on request. That applies to a $89 oil change exactly as it applies to a $2,000 repair.
